Good post but this isn’t the case. The vast majority of these people would be far to the left of Corbyn and would certainly not label themselves Corbynites.

Feel like there's no scenario where "anti-lockdown party" is a strong suit by next May, but maybe I lack Farage's frog instincts.

Have you met Britain before?

By May well have had like 3 poo poo lockdowns and covid will still very much be a thing and the economy will be even further down the toilet, either brexit will be over so the gammon need a new moronic scheme or brexit will have been delayed so the gammon will be more red and swollen than ever.

Farage will do what he did to the EU and cast the governments unwillingness or inability to do a proper lockdown as proof that locking down itself is bad.

He will be given 10,000 hours of news coverage

There is some really horrible stuff in that report, which, if true (and at least some of it probably is) is abhorrent and inexcusable. But it isn't altogether clear how much is true and what the wider context was for all of it, from which a number of conclusions have been drawn. For instance, there was stuff about Coryn's people celebrating after 2017 while the right-wingers were grey-faced, because this isn't what they had worked for. They were running an election campaign. Corbyn's people were celebrating a better-than-expected close second place. In a two-horse race, there is a word for second place. If you'd lost an election that you'd worked really hard to win, would you necessarily be celebrating?

Jo Greening 09:12: no its great

Francis Grove-White 09:12: Not that I think we will end up there or probably anywhere near.

Jo Greening 09:12: and I shall tell you why, it is a peak and the polling was done after the Manchester attack so with a bit of luck this speech will show a clear polling decline
and we shall all be able to point to how disgusting they truly are(now obviously we know it was never real – but that isnt the point in politics!)

Francis Grove-White 09:13: Yeah I’m sure that’s right

Francis Grove-White 09:16:My fears are that: a) the speech won’t go down as badly as it deserves to thanks to the large groundswell of ill-informed opposition to all western interventions. And b) they will use that poll to claim they were on course to win and then Manchester happened. And whether or not JC goes, lots of the membership will buy that argument

08/06/2017, 22:46 – Emilie Oldknow: We have to be upbeat

08/06/2017, 22:46 – Emilie Oldknow: And not show it

08/06/2017, 22:47 – Emilie Oldknow: And at least we have loads of money now…

Yeah like, did you read any of this, TheRattle? The context for what you were arguing about is right there in the report. There is no additional context required. The context is they're a bunch of horrible right-wing cunts who were actively working to tank Labour's chance to form a left-wing government.

if staffers hadn't sabotaged Labour, then the party might have won a general election, and that would have given the party false hope that they might have had won a general election on merit, and not lost the election as they should have had done. so, if you think about it, they were just trying to protect the party :)

I mean, they're not wrong that lockdowns are ultimately futile, if carried out as a stand-alone policy. You also need a functioning track and trace system, and vigorous enforcement of quarantine, with isolators checked on daily, paid generously to stay at home, have food supplied to them and given hotel/ hospital accomodation if they're living in crowded/ unsuitable conditions already. The countries that have beaten Covid took quarantine very seriously, whereas in the Uk it's been: "Yeah, just inform your boss that you won't be coming to work for the next 2 weeks and good luck getting a delivery slot from Tesco!"

With the country facing an open-ended cycle of hideously damaging lockdowns and no exit strategy, there'll be plenty of people ready to listen to what they have to say.

Can’t wait for farage to prove how harmless covid is by having a dozen people cough in his mouth live on stage before finally dying from brain worms.
Genuinely I kinda think anti-masker or anti-vaccine stuff like this, where you’re actively promoting it, should be treated as a type of terrorism or something given the pandemic circumstances. Absolute degenerates
