I wasn't a huge fan but I liked the show a lot and watched the whole thing, and I gotta say I was trying to figure out why the Moon was pink and being devoured by a shower clog. I also though the dark spot might be an eye and it was an incredibly lovely emo-hair version of the moon from Majora's Mask. Finally, this is just a lovely take on the philosophy of yin-yang, but I guess we can't expect deep media understanding from the person who would get this tattoo in the first place.
