My point is that while "conservatism" tries to make anyone not part of the in-group into an undifferentiated slavering horde, liberalism does the same thing to "anyone who is remotely dissatisfied with all this bullshit" to a much much larger group and I didn't become a leftist to fall for that bullshit. v v v Thank you, this was my entire point. Well you opened up with "every liberal is basically the same as Trump brownshirts" so yeah if you use your words and say "reaching out to people who are socially pressured into voting trump may be possible" instead then people won't misinterpret you. And it's also not generally worth the effort. The only way to change the habits of people socially pressured to do things is to either publically flip the entire group or remove them from the space. It isn't that it is *impossible*, it is just *extraordinarily inefficient* compared to just franchising more left wing votes and reps.
