EDIT: how could I forget this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLljd8pfiFg (The best part of this one is that that character is so fat and incoherant because he absorbs any knowledge he finds instead of being discerning and only reading the Bible) flavor.flv has a new favorite as of 03:39 on Nov 27, 2020 |

Similar to the likes of plays such as "Hamlet" or "A summer nights dream" Ratatoing has mastered its craft and explored what cinema is and what it can be. Ratatoing studies and dives into the political, social and economical turmoil surrounding us humans as a species but more important as beings. When you look past the rats you are something deeper while it is obvious that many of the rats represent gods and goddesses however the rats are more human than any of us will ever be the greed and desire that owning a restaurant represents is that sometimes in life a quick dive into some fly guatrano is all one needs.

My favorite part of Ratatoing is the villain rats getting tortured to death in a lab as punishment.

How the hell did they manage to get Howie Mandel and Whoopi Goldberg both for this? Either Howie has the Deal or No Deal and American Idol money, or Whoopi still has the Sister Act and Star Trek TNG money. It's incredibly rare that they're both hurting for a paycheck that bad at the same time.

The guy who directed this poo poo had previously worked as the Animation Supervisor on Titanic, The Scorpion King and The Fifth Element (there's a car chase in P3000 that's very similar to the floating cab car chase in TFE), and the main voice actor and the composer were also ****actual professionals****, as well as a lot of the other cast and crew. This was an actual movie with some actual talent and money behind it. HOWEVER, according to the film's imdb trivia page: quote:Michael Jackson participated in the production in the film. He gave some story suggestions to the film's producers, was set to perform an original song, and possibly help release the movie. However, Jackson's arrest in November 2003 due to sexual assault allegations would prevent him from doing so. It turns out that Michael Jackson had wanted to get into the movie making business so he was in negotiations to buy CinéGroupe, the Montreal animation production house that was making Pinocchio 3000. This is apparently a photo of him visiting the studio: A couple months afterwards Jackson was arrested on charges of child molestation so all these deals fell through and it looks like the film got shelved for several years and then quietly released on DVD. E: the entire thing is in Youtube and it's not great, but it's fairly competent and not awful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgtkHpzpZYY Snowglobe of Doom has a new favorite as of 11:37 on Nov 27, 2020 |

This is a super dumb detail, but Star Trek TNG was 30 years ago and Whoopi goldberg played a super bit part on a huge cast on a tv sci-fi show. I doubt she made a fortune from that. I’m sure she made way way way more money on The View.

Whoopi was friends with Michael Jackson so he might have asked her to be in that poo poo animated movie. On the other hand this was also the same period where she had roles in stuff like Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 and Jiminy Glick in Lalawood so it's not like this was the standout lovely project on her imdb page. BigFactory posted:I’m sure she made way way way more money on The View. Sidenote, she didn't do the Star Trek thing for money anyway. She'd been a giant fan her entire life (and was a friend of Levar Burton's) and actually approached the Star Trek production for a role.

The first one seems benign, standard family pablum. I have NO idea how you'd make a sequel to Red Fern. Or get Wilford Brimley to star in it.
