hey nerds im going to buy a theory book from a local lefty bookstore, pitch your other theory books so i can buy another book to support it and so i can read words about how lovely everything is and why. most of my education was all like, one of two steps removed from actually just outright reading theory (i.e. primary sources using theory as framework) so i havent read like, basically anything without it being contextualized in situ (in text). e: i dont care what stripe it is as long as you think its legitimately good/informing. fuuuuUUck it Kalsco fucked around with this message at 03:55 on Dec 5, 2020 |

I think "Mutual Aid" by Kropotkin is the most underrated book. While it looks Anarchist it is mostly a refutation of one of the most annoying pseudoscientific liberal mind worms.

I second this. Whatever you may say about anarchism, their texts are way, way more accessible to the average person. It makes way more sense to start someone off with Mutal Aid or The Conquest of Bread than anything with Marx. You can suggest Marxist stuff later on.

I mean it is anarchist, but actual socialist anarchist not anarkiddy. It's the same with conquest of bread, even if it's a tad outdated. very firmly rooted in marx too

These relations therefore are themselves natural laws independent of the influence of time. They are eternal laws which must always govern society. Thus there has been history, but there is no longer any.”
