to be fair, most countries' scientists are screaming at their politicians to stop being hosed up capitalist murderers otoh, some of them help their politicians murder, that's why in germany a scientist earned the hashtag #SterbenMitStreeck or #DyingWithStreeck for advocating for the right wing version of herd immunity where over a million germans die and everyone gets sick, while being supported by a dedicated PR company to spread this idea, paid by ... ??? https://twitter.com/ben_geisler/status/1336287641776640001https://twitter.com/ben_geisler/status/1336288880190951426https://twitter.com/ben_geisler/status/1336294717160644610

A request - someone in this thread shared a Tweet with stats on deaths, cancer cases, etc that we should expect downstream of and coincidental / unrelated to COVID vaccinations. Anyone happen to have this handy? Thanks.

Thanks for reminding me that I will be supervising exam sessions all day on Saturday with two groups of people who I think don't have to wear masks because they're in a school (I don't actually know the loving regulations anywhere anymore because Switzerland is a goddamned shitshow of independent restrictions). I'll be wearing a mask and a coat because I will have the loving windows open.

I was on a conference call this morning with a group that included one guy who lives in Texas but had traveled to the SF Bay Area for a few days last week for work. He kicks things off saying "Sure is good to be back here, I felt like I was in jail last week. Y'all sure are taking this virus thing seriously." The pregnant pause was delicious before everyone else (all in the bay area) decided to not start anything and moved on.

I had to venture out into public today for medicine and there were maybe 50% of the people I saw wearing any kind of face covering (not gonna call them all masks) and less social distancing. I don't get it, I'll never get it, these people are awful.

If you are in a region where the virus is so widespread that mask usage is going to make a difference, you should be in lockdown, not having public debate about whether you should have to wear them into a restaurant or whatever.

Those tweets he sent were like immediately before kickoff. His previous tests on the day were inconclusive but they let him go on field *without a mask* for pregame warmups until his last test at the stadium came back positive and they scratched him from the game. Now he's bitching about it on twitter. Edit: Like half the loving Ravens missed last week's game because they had COVID, and the commentators are talking about it like they came back from a 1 game suspension or something. Stupid assholes probably see 20 year old NFL stars bounce back from Covid in a week and assume they could do the same. Edit 2: Oh yeah and the social media people are scrubbing all the pictures they tweeted earlier of Dez hugging and poo poo with people pregame. Like full blown "oh god make this disappear" mode. explosivo fucked around with this message at 02:41 on Dec 9, 2020 |

i was just watching this stream with a doctor who treats covid patients and he mentions he faces 8+ malpractice suits from the families of people who died of covid, because he "treated them for an illness that doesn't exist" e: gently caress it keeps going and he has so many horror stories -- his hospital for example laid off residents who got sick with covid and were sick for too long, meanwhile hospital admin had dibs on PPE (the segment starts roughly when she puts the doctor's name text on screen) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESw58AMqPT0 Mithaldu fucked around with this message at 02:44 on Dec 9, 2020 |

The next three days are going to have even higher numbers.
