Yeah, Sal actually seems to like being the butt of the jokes and he says and does thing that do deserved to be poked at. I feel like if Scott was as bad as Howard would say, he would not have kept him for decades. The beating would often get way too personal.

Back when he was always abusing Scott for being late with the best-ofs, he would admit that Scott was the best engineer/editor he'd ever worked with, but he was also the slowest.

It does speak volumes that they basically don't have interns anymore now that it is required they get paid. No one has been successful after leaving the show (other than John's $1m contract, though he failed to do anything), so I'm sure he justifies it in his head as paying them something when no one else would. Didn't know about Tim's story, that's pretty hosed up.

I don’t remember Tim being nearly as vindictive when he talked about leaving the show on Artie’s podcast. He basically said he needed an extended leave of absence to deal with his Father’s death and Howard thought it was a good time to part ways. He had been Turked at that point. Tim wasn’t technically fired because I believe he went to run the Opie and Anthony channel and was eventually let go after that. At that point I think Sirius was cutting costs by letting everyone expensive go who wasn’t associated with Howard. Still lovely but understandable to a point. Howard wanted to go in a different direction with the channels. The Scott Salem saga still is difficult to understand how he could be so heartless to the guy.
