That's cool about the DS/CP2077 crossover stuff, but how in the hell is it so huge?

Sometimes those giant patches are because it's easier to download a huge patch and then install over the excess old data rather than cleanly inserting a small patch into existing data. I dunno if that's what happened here, but googling says the Death Stranding release day size on disk was 55 GB and my local files including all saves etc are at about 64 GB.

Instead of asking each console to open and edit each file they essentially just redownload every asset that changes. So even if like 5kb changes you're pulling the entire drat thing again. It at least ensures a sane environment. It's not at all efficient.

Was thinking about picking up an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset for the wife and I for Christmas, and then learned that it mandates a Facebook account in order to use. Hard loving pass there.

They used to have a 2.4ghz wireless version (the base was triangular vs square) and it was just as great. I had one and it lasted long enough that they killed the wireless variant before I needed a replacement. Wired is still good, though. Had one of those, too.

Plus its cheaper and way easier to setup and put away. Thanks again for the joystick suggestion. I have to wait until Micro Center is a little emptier tonight to pick it up, but it’s gonna be so cool to play some flight sims again. I still have my Falcon 4.0 manual and a bunch of Janes ones. Also picked up good old games releases of the Star Wars flight games, Wing Commander commander, and falcon 3.0. I just wish somebody would re-release Fighters anthology, I think I have the disk sitting around but it is kind of a pain in the rear end to get up to current system standards. I love to help people able to mod in so much crazy stuff like tons of nuclear weapon platforms and so many other types of planes.

I finally bought Stardew Valley. With that and weed, I suspect I'll remember very little about the next few weeks. Gears Tactics is annoying me on insane difficulty. Need a break from that grind.

Gears Tactics was just not meant to be played on Insane. It's one of those dumb settings where the devs just crank everything to unfun levels and called it a day.

The worst part is the trend is people actually wanting it. It's like Video game BDSM. Conversely I do love how devs have made games easier for people to play and get into, like push the button once instead of having to mash it and other accessibility options.

Honestly, haven't had a ton of trouble on insane mode with Jack. I coasted through Act 1 in about a day. I'm working on Act 2 right now and hit a spot I've grinded for an hour so it's break time. I've named my farm 420 Marijuana and I'm just clearing the poo poo out of land while hitting a dab occasionally.

I still rock the Saitek X-55 Rhino HOTAS that I bought from this thread two years ago, compared to the cost of all the modern electronics the $500 for a new midrange HOTAS feels almost reasonable these days.

MazelTovCocktail posted:So I picked up some old Lucasarts games (gog sale) and I realized for the fighter games some only use joystick options. Can anyone recommend a cheap, but gets the job done, flight stick for retro PC game? Like I don't need a HOTAS or the Steel Battalion one, just simple functions and maybe some extra buttons you can map. I can also use my Xbox or PS4 controller, but I assume that might be overkill and honestly I kind of want to try a joystick out again. There’s the X-Wing: Alliance Upgrade Project out there, if you want that game updated to HD I bought that game solely to run the DS II tunnel at the end, every other fun mission was just a nice bonus.

How good is Stardew? I get it’s like Harvest Moon, but also what makes it so good, I’ve seen a lot of people who like it. Also does it require you to have to daily check on things or can it be at your own pace.

The four seasons are each 28 in-game days long (I think each is around 15 minutes as you play), different plants grow in different seasons, different town events, etc. Play a bit at a time or poopsock it. I really like it. Good blend of crafting, layout, story, interesting NPCs.
