They took their hobby real serious. There's something about the intensity of 70s trekkie nerds from back when Star Trek was off the air, before the first movies even, they just had TOS and the cartoon so they had very few rules to follow.

There's also a big difference between renting some spare space at a fair rate and owning apartments and making a living off it, imo. The first can be good people even if housing should be a basic human right, the second is a 'job' that shouldn't exist. Don't a ton of career landlords hire managers anyway to avoid doing even the most basic work of building management?
