honestly, watching the lives of UK pensioners living in Spain fall apart is definitely one of the biggest upsides to brexit

The UK has a furlough scheme that pays up to 80% of the salary of anyone who unable to work because of the virus. It's was capped at £2.5k a month. I think it's been reduced to £2k now.

I'd take that over a one-off stimulus cheque for less than a week's salary.

nah Hake tastes too ‘fishy’. Cod and Haddock are more bland in flavour and therefore far better suited to our British palates.

Finally free of the eu's jackboot at the average joe's neck. Better to die standing than live on your knees. A man can only put up with so much until he fights back. Better dead than red. The oppressed masses will rise up. You can't keep the average stiff down forever. Finally taking back control!

I will go to my grave saying this is the stupidest thing anyone has ever done. Everyone knew the summer was a lull in the storm before a second winter wave and the government loving subsidised a load of super spreader events to get it started. Even for the Tories, even for Boris Johnson that was one of the most baffling own goals ever carried out.

I'm sure there are a bunch of Tory donors/relatives/friends who made giant piles of money because of Brexit. It's probably not as simple as "this industry makes more money now" in any case, though.

its just a temporary scam/quick fix

ofc now that everything is under the "control" of the british government theres a 50/50 chance the quick fix never gets replaced

the gov and media havent noticed that our entire justice system collapsed like 5 years ago, so it takes a very long time for our institutions to notice and then even more time to rectify their malfunctions

You couldn't even run a sex arse factory in Brexit due to labor shortages. But even if you could, the labor costs and safety standards would make british made sex arses an unaffordable luxury reserved only for the rich and famous.

Given sovereignty of parliament nowhere near as much as it would in the US or most other places.

Mainly it means that you have to wait a really long time for someone to hear your case, to the point you can't really get justice even for blatant violation of the law, particularly non-criminal ones.
