The film 12 Monkeys, pretty self-contained, was itself inspired by a short film, so when I heard that there was a TV series, I thought it would have a ton of padding and wheel-spinning. It turned out to be one of my favorite TV shows ever.

I've seen multiple people say something along the lines of "Whoa whoa whoa, there's enough troubling stuff in the Armie Hammer story without needing to bring up the cannibalism stuff. Let's focus on the grooming and power dynamics, no need to suggest that it's somehow wrong to be aroused by the fantasy of killing and eating a woman". Either the 'no kinkshaming' movement has gone insane of there's a lot more people out there who are sexually aroused by the thought of killing and eating a woman than I would've guessed

I think the issue is that if the focus of the stories is “Lol this Hollywood pretty man wants to eat people”, the story will not be taken very seriously.

It'd be like "man robs shop dressed as santa" and the main point is that he's dressed as santa, not that he robbed people.

But it's not like the wanting to eat people is just a random detail, it's an illustration of how hosed up he is. Like, you hear "Armie Hammer wants to kill and eat a woman!" and you're like wait what, and then if you look into the story it's like, drat he really does. Its not like a man dressed as Santa robbing a shop, it's like a man dressed as Santa giving toys to children

The Star Wars Expanded Universe is just fanfiction that's somehow accepted as canon by the people who understand why George Lucas should not have been allowed to touch that movie franchise after Return of the Jedi but somehow think that we should still care what he says.

Star Wars is good, I've enjoyed the 6 films I've seen end ill get round to the latest trilogy one day. There's a lot of cool poo poo in the franchise but its got to be the worst example of too many people who want you to know it sucks and too many fans who overly identify with it. To be clear i dont mean people who watch The Mandalorian, i mean the type who have star wars weddings and go to the films at midnight launches
