Effy’s probably one of the smartest wrestlers going once you get past the past where he decided to be a wrestler.

Dude has such a frankly pragmatic view of the business.

Even if he is the fruits rotten. Vinces father was a broken man, Vince is a broken man, his kids are absolutely bizarre people who just creep people out, his son in law is an ego driven power climber who seems to be an two faced as Vince.

This is more Jervis being overly-dramatic and looking for attention; there’s a tweet right after clarifying he misses “the community” or whatever. Doubtful he’s actually retiring since he’s always fishing for a bigger gig with a big fed (and not getting it).

Whether he’s a true creep or someone stole his identity and creeped on people a while back or whatever, most wrestlefans have cooled way off on the guy, mental health advocacy aside.

I've never watched a full episode of AEW, but seeing John Silver in a graphic with MiSu and Taichi for their joint 9th place finish in the favourite wrestlers list made me realise that'd probably be a fun trio.

For those who don't know this guy: He's like Nega-Aubrey. People just hate him. At DEFY they would switch every match and they'd cheer for Aubrey and boo the hell out of the guy. Every time each night. He got assaulted by La Parka during a match at DEFY and the crowd cheered about as loudly as they booed here:

I wonder if this is the ref who just got mercilessly heckled by some big guy at this Project 42 show I went to (long enough ago to include Darby Allen) at El Corazon. It seemed truly hateful and I just couldn't figure it out.

the story I heard is that they really needed Lucha Bros to work heel for the show but knew that they'd get a pop, and the only thing, the ONLY thing they knew that would outweigh how cool it is to see the Lucha Bros wrestle in person is how much the crowd would hate anyone who kicked Aubrey.

it's amazing what you can get when you treat a ref as a working part of the match instead of a nonentity that sometimes faints like a goat on command

And I think my head is burning,

And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

The story I heard was it was just a planned spot in the match and Aubrey told Fenix "you might not realise this might get you more heat than you're expecting I'm popular" or words to that effect amd then when it happened Fenix was shocked just how much heat he got because like hitting/grabbing a ref is just something that happens in matches to get heat but not like this.
