I also totally stopped LPOTL after they moved, I wonder if they eventually tour again theyll realise how much theyve hurt themselves in the long term.
But no one can see their listenership anyway so who knows.

They'd be pretty dumb if they didn't get "never have to earn another cent to be set for life" money in the deal.

Pretty much any company that sells anything on the app store has an "anti-apple rationale", because a 30% cut even on subscription services bought through the app store is absurd. The exception are a few companies that get sweetheart deals from Apple, while others simply don't sell subscriptions through anything but their website (which they can't advertise in the app).

There's a reason a coalition of companies is complaining about this to the FTC and the EU.

To be fair in that particular case they seemed to think Apple had some hold over all of podcasting (this was when the podcast was free). I wish I could remember their complaint now because it sounded wrong immediately. I agree with the rest of the anti-Apple stuff, though I do think it's funny that they jumped ship to a platform that pays Artists even less than Apple do for streaming.

In the show with Tulsi Gabbard Joe claims that Google have stepped on the story of the Florida doctor dying after taking the vaccine. Guess which news story you can very easily Google right now?

Also, Chapelle tested positive for Covid and Joe posted a picture of them together earlier this week. I really don't know why comedians are insisting that they have to go on stage to share their funny thoughts at times like this.

Joe, a self proclaimed liberal, is constantly spouting right wing fake news that he doesn't bother checking himself because he trusts and believes his right wing grifter guests.

I had a feeling this would happen as soon as I saw that pic of the whole crew with Elon Musk and Grimes two days after she had tweeted about enjoying her COVID-19 DayQuil buzz. That means that along with Chapelle, Joe, Michelle Wolf, Ron White, and Donnell Rawlings (among others) were potentially exposed. Joe has said that they know who exposed Chapelle and it wasnt Grimes, but Im not totally buying it.

Cant remember which podcast it was, but someone has said that because of COVID, Ron White had basically retired from stand-up but was convinced to go on stage one night, and he immediately started going up almost every night since. The laughs and attention is an addiction to stand-up comedians.

I wonder if he's still mad that Bill Burr told him to shut the gently caress up like half a year ago or so when he told him something like "You're sounding as loving dumb as the anti-vaxxers" or something to that effect.

Can't remember the episode because again, it's been like 5 or so years since I've watched any episodes in a row and I only occasionally catch glimpses of his newer interviews and also because I loving loathe Spotify.

lol and remember that it was Bill Burr downplaying the significance of Trump getting elected back in 2016, all like, "How is your life going to be any different?"

Turns out that most comics are just funny, not funny and smart.

I'm not sure I'm willing to give the guy that would constantly whine about Obama's "mishandling" of the swine flu pandemic a pass on that one. And I don't think Trump mishandling every crisis that would arise (Puerto Rico is still a mess) is something that was hard to predict. He's also partially responsible for the ongoing shortage of many components thanks to his failed trade war.

And, even if we were to live in some alternate reality where Trump didn't gently caress up royally, most people want the situation to get better: Everything staying bad is worth complaining about.

I'd say that a significant number of people stateside saw their lives affected in a negative manner due to the neverending amount of fuckups created/enabled/mishandled by the tweeter in chief and his admin/cabinet of malicious/incompetent ghouls, yes.

Neat!

Lots of comedians are idiots. Clever idiots, but still idiots. There's a secondary issue with most popular comedians as well where they seem to forget they aren't really the working or even middle class John Doe Everyman they think they are anymore.

I've never been able to get into Tom Segura and Christina's podcast because I end up annoyed by them for that reason. They discuss every problem they have like its a totally normal everyday thing when they have some issue with their 7M dollar house or whatever and can just throw money at it to solve it. Some of its a put on and part of the act, but lots isn't and it comes across as insufferable to me.

And its not limited to that pair either. Some play into it harder than others, but like Tom, Burt, Bill Burr, Rogan...etc etc, are all RICH. Different strata of wealthy and in Rogan's case, extremely wealthy but it makes it tough to really relate to someone who's biggest problem is deciding which luxury sports car they should drive today.

It's why they have all gotten so bitchy about SJWs. They don't have to care about bills or jobs, the only threat to them is if they get cancelled, so it's all they think about. It's especially rough for Joe because he's surrounded by so many meat heads so when they go off about SJWs he thinks they are very smart, and then gets suckered into all sort of dumb ideas, like how Tim Pool isn't an enormous moron

I still remember that one stand-up special where Patton Oswalt does a really, really dark bit of a hypothetical stripper who monologues about stripping to a R.E.O. Speedwagon song. And how stand-ups are probably just as, if not way more hosed-up than strippers.
