He's on paternity leave so Howard talked poo poo about him being gone once and is now pretending like he doesn't exist.

I remember getting a call from my mom that my uncle had been in a car accident(he was fine) and she needed me to go pick up my grandma for a doctors appointment. I forgot I had the Sirius on when I picked up my precious Nanna, she got in the car and a few seconds after the car started Gilbert yells out " I want to cum on Bindi Irwins jap tits". Nanna was quite upset.

Like he's working from home, does he really need to go on paternity leave? I can see when they're in studio and he's gone for hours every day, but when working from home? It *seems* like its unnecessary for something like that situation, but I'm neither working from home myself, nor am I a father.

You DEFINITELY need paternity/parental leave, unless you just say 'gently caress it' to either your newborn or job, depending on what you focus on. Without getting too much into it, I've taken parental leave twice, and both times, I wouldn't have been able to both care for a newborn and expect to get any work done at all, if I was working from home. The sleep deprivation alone is enough to say 'I'm focusing on the baby for a few weeks, not work'.

Yeah thinking people don't need leave because they work from home is ridiculous. Hell, I'd argue you need it more because you're at home.

The paternity leave stuff is where Howard shows he is old. He freaked out about Shuli's time off (that was provided by their own employer) because he feels the mother should be taking care of the kids and the father bringing home the money. I honestly wonder if he is going to "punish" Richard for his time off by taking away some responsibilities or giving him less say when he gets back. Seems like something he would do.

Even if the one parent was completely capable of handling the newborn on their own... good god, let someone enjoy the first days with their newborn. You’ll never get that time back with them.

Nah, Richard would be raising that kid right by teaching it how to thrash to metal right out of the womb. And learning to love Halloween. And prank calls. Let's face it, that kid has a good chance to be insanely awesome or just insane. Lifespan posted:The paternity leave stuff is where Howard shows he is old. I mean, Richard is probably going into old age still pranking shows of his own free will and doing metal and stuff.

What was the Ethel call that was asking for a ton of things, and then replying with the exact same "goooood" each time? I know Richard loves his long ropes of listed items, but I can't remember which one that was. The barometer is still my all time favourite.

I suspect they stopped doing Robin's news because of a lack of advertising and/or it being completely useless as it no longer sparks conversation amongst the staff. Them not doing the news comes 100% from them not having to. Before they would just end the show with news and Howard only listening halfway. Now they just talk about any news stories they believe will provide a long conversation as part of the regular show. I'm pretty indifferent to it, but I wonder if they will do news again whenever they are back in the studio again.

I seemed like they stopped doing the news when the show went remote. I thought part of it may be due to the news being 100% COVID related and not wanting to talk about it even more.

Almost everything good about the show came about because of something they were forced to do. Imagine how lame it would have been if Tom Chiusano had actually done what Howard said he should do.

I have been listening to the Sour Shoes compilation this week and I forgot all that he has contributed to the show. He is so nuts that most of his calls are just him asking for requests for him to play badly, but in those moments he is locked in he is loving hilarious. Obviously the Langford calls, but things like the 90 minute Gary call to Medicated Pete and even the short Wyatt Imus call saying "Help! My dad is trying to force me to smell his cowboy hat!" are just fantastic.
