Run by champagne socialists mostly. I've considered quitting them a few times now, I didn't even vote for them at the last election.

The leadership contest had an actual chance of replacing the leaders with a dude who seemed to actually have some passion but they managed to hold onto it somehow which is mad since they didn't even have the best green policies while Jeremy was leader, let alone anything else.

I hope you're not talking about Shahrar Ali. Fucker decided to build his platform around hardline transphobia in order to appeal to the Tories-in-wellies faction.

probably worse since he won't even get the youth vote, most of which will go to the SNP in Scotland and the Greens in England and Wales

B-but the centre ground! All those rational Neoliberal Dads and soft Tories who sworesies they'd vote Labour if only for that perfidious Corbyn! Surely that's enough!

It's amazing how the Labour Right have so spectacularly hosed their own chances this hard by chasing utter delusion.

Can't remember his name, just remember he was trying to hold the leadership to account over a lovely campaign. Wasn't aware of that though, it doesn't surprise me with the state of the greens right now.

The labour right want to be in charge of something, anything at all, so torching the parties election chances to then take over is fine with them

Scottish Greens are not perfect but definitely closest we have to a socialist option in our Parliament. That they also support the break up of the UK and Scottish independence is an added bonus.

I hope they pick up seats in May's election which would mean Scottish National Party members finally understanding how to vote efficiently for pro indy parties. Unfortunately this probably doesn't happen because SNP voters are fairly cultish

I've heard it said that the additional member system was chosen for Holyrood to keep the SNP from getting a majority, but why choose a system that can be gamed if independence is your priority by voting smaller indy parties in the list? What's the advantage over, say, STV?
And why has there been so little effort to encourage that gaming? Obviously the SNP leadership have a duty to their list candidates and won't tell you to vote for someone else, but I'd have thought there'd be more of a grassroots campaign to do that

Well if you go back to the devolution referendum there really weren't any meaningful wee parties. In '99 the Greens won 1 seat, the Scottish Socialists won 1 and there was 1 other independent (who had been Labour MP but he was too left wing so they'd not let him stand at Holyrood and he crushed the chosen Blairite empty suit). Every other MSP was Labour, SNP, Tory or Liberal.

I think after the indy ref people kind of forgot how the electoral system works and decided to just vote SNP/SNP. And yeah, they really need to get on with a campaign to go SNP/Green or SNP/...I dunno. RISE seems to have failed as a unified socialist ticket so i guess the Trot SSP or Solidarity assuming Tommy Sheridan hasn't given up his vanity project.

Meanwhile the chuckles are brought by George Galloway's Alliance 4 Unity pointless unionist party. Which contains inbred Old Etonians, Tommy Robinson supporters and the founder of UKIP.
