one time we were doing poo poo with the zoom boom JLG lift and someone stopped their car and yelled they were going to call OSHA on us. I told them to go ahead because I was just a labourer also I had to direct the jlg lift and they just showed me crane hand signs because we didn't have radios

It had accumulated and they needed to close down and get it properly cleaned or ventilated, I remember there were also EPA regs that were involved. I'll ask and get back to you.

Wish there was a better way, but none such has come up in the decades that we have made bells. It must be a nuisance for the churches too, you need four big guys to operate just one of them.

I was more focusing on the guys pushing the bell while standing next to a large pit with no fall protection barriers. \/\/\/ it did have sound but imgur didn't even give me the option of leaving it in. I'll try again. Megillah Gorilla fucked around with this message at 13:13 on Feb 11, 2021 |

My Spirit Otter posted:Cheaper to pay 4 guys minimum wage for half an hour than to buy some fancy automatic bell ringing machine I to doesn't even need a machine! - I've rung church bells before (probably the least coolest thing I've ever done, after joining SA ), and when 'up' they're so finely-balanced even preteens can sound the big, heavy tenor bells. Likewise I've been up in a belfry while the bells were ringing, and they are LOUD, like 'feel it in your bones' loud - those guys must be completely deaf lol

I saw no earpro and figured they were just testing the balance without a clapper in the bell. Then 20 seconds in it starts ringing and welp. Maybe the sound is directed downward and it isn't too loud?

I heard that and thought, "Wait, that's really how they sound?" I'm sure it has more to do with how much a standard microphone is capable of capturing. Bet it would "feel" very different in person.
