I'm pretty the reaction is exactly what their marketing team was going for based on the subsequent tweet; there's plenty of ways to fit the whole message into the character limit if they were acting in good faith.

I'm actually surprised this interpretation isn't more common, especially with capitalism and Christianity being completely intertwined in America. We already have sayings like "Hard work is its own reward" and the idea that doing nothing but work is noble and admirable. Hell I remember a car commercial a few years back that was like "Unlike those sissy Europeans we don't take a month of vacation a year."
