He unfortunately doesn't even have one of those funny squeaky voices it's simply just the most boring voice you've ever not recalled.

redleader posted:i just realised that i (as a non-uk person) have no idea how to pronounce keir Keer, rhymes with beer. I'm telling you this because it's a not-that-uncommon Scottish name, and there's a non-zero chance that we'll see a Keir (or multiple Keirs) who is/are worth paying attention to sometime in the future. At the very least, you now know how to pronounce Keira Knightley.

Jaeluni Asjil posted:Angela Rayner has turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of nuLabour I think. Starmer, I expected nothing better, but Rayner seems to have done a complete about-face - maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention before. She was never truly "left" but I think she has been done dirty somewhat - I think she genuinely believed that Keir was not just a right winger in disguise, you can see that she was genuinely outraged at the leaked report last year while Keith was all "oh no, yes a shame, but the most important thing is that the hammer of God be dropped on the leakers" I think she is similar to Corbyn and Bernie, where she's pinned her colours to the Labour mast and is not going to betray the party as she sees it. Still a shame to see her toe the line so solidly.

Dunno if it got posted in here yet but a woman was murdered by a police officer (not in the traditional way, a proper off the books murder) and its sparked a big attempt by British women to talk about how unsafe they feel on the streets and how regularly they are harrassed and scared. Kiers response is to say that we need more police. Additionally after helping make it legal for them to rape and kill women.

I did like him saying the difference between him and Boris is that when he clapped for the nurses he meant it. Quite literally 'we'll still stop your benefits but pull a sad face when we do it' but out loud to journalists

if keir loses seats he’s out and the actual labor right is going to go full mask off and put their guy in. keir is a patsy to wreck the left, he’s not actually a part of the hard core labor right.

I agree that he doesn't have a base within the party but I am extremely worried that they'll gain like 10 seats in 2024 and keep him on We'll see what the mood in the party is after May I guess
