Green Lantern stuff gets frustrating like that because like it's not even that hard to make rainbow light space cops into a fun premise. And they've got a bunch of human GLs at this point who are fun and unique. And then there's Hal.

What really gets me about Geoff Johns being the architect of Hal's return is he purposefully chose the least interesting Lantern who had gone on to be something much more interesting, but no, we just get Hal and there's nothing to him aside from square-jawed space cop. Even that sadly truncated GL cartoon made Hal more interesting by turning him into Captain Kirk (in a reckless 'The Prime Suggestion' sense and not so much bedding various hued alien women sense). Although given the allegations against Johns maybe it's not surprising he picked The Most White Lantern without actually being the White Lantern.

Another smaller channel I really dig is Hats Off Entertainment who reviews weird quirky stuff, like the movie Stoogemania which is sadly not an Iggy Pop biopic but instead about a guy who's obsessed with the Three Stooges but they only had the rights to like two of the shorts so they get played a lot. I love SarahZ and wish more people were like her, but there's this pervasive mindset throughout her vids where she relates a lot with, and is generally defensive of, young people acting real lovely and stupid on the internet. Like yeah, sure, these kids throw themselves down spirals of crazy beliefs that are completely detached from reality to the point of harassment and harm towards others...but c'mon they're just kids, amirite? You can't blame kids for being kids! Oh but I absolutely can and will.

I feel like a lot of this teen censoriousness comes from kids understanding some moral perspective in the abstract but lacking the social or cognitive development to know when it makes sense to apply it. The test for this theory would be whether or not a teenager calls me ableist if I post it on twitter.
