I asked some friends what they thought about the US using the Xinjiang story to drum up general anti-chinese sentiment ( I showed them a recent popular article that said China is a slave sate - projection much?) and they said it's good if China has pressure not to do these kinds of things, makes them loose a little face to get caught hurting innocent people. But I think they're only considering the repercussions inside china, the murders in Atlanta are a result of stuff like this as well.
