Incredibly cool that Liverpool Council finally found the amount of corruption that was Too Much I assume most who read this thread are aware but after uncle Joe got the boot there was a three woman shortlist for new mayor, all experienced and with union backing Keith and co scrapped the shortlist with no explanation, and announced that they were starting a new selection process where the previous three candidates wouldn't be considered (again with no explanation) At the last mayoral election the tories got 3% of the vote so no real worries there but at least we're guaranteed to have a red rosette stamping the government commissioners plans to start chucking homeless people into the mersey At least Joe was corrupt in a fun way

What had she done that was too much? said at a hustings she was a clean break from the previous mayors office because she hadn't been part of it and therefore couldn't be involved in the corruption

the modern purpose of the labour party is to contain the left but be run by the same corrupt technocratic right wing as the tories so the left can't actually do anything to derail the gravy train the timing doesnt quite work for starmer to have been parachuted in specifically to deal with corbyn, since he was parachuted in just slightly earlier than corbyn ran but he's a lifelong security state creature who was leading the charge wrt labours total brexit fuckup and has personal connections with helping MI5 cover up various state crimes. theres absolutely zero chance he isnt supported by mi5 in some regard, even if its just a "protect this guy hes the perfect idiot" written in some file somewhere. MI5 have always been absolutely crawlking through all of labours trashcans and trying to sabotage leftwingers. its just a matter of how direct it support is. either way its worth remembering that labour dying as a party is FAR FAR behind the left actually winning an election in terms of disaster outcomes for his lot. labour betrayed the establishments trust when they hosed up and let corbyn in and pandoras box cant be closed they'll just kill the party instead
