From a dramatic standpoint, that event is always supposed to inform [END GAME SPOILERS] your meeting with the Deserter.

Still don't get it. The game explains numerous times how Revachol was unfairly and cruelly hosed. Yet the thought to stand for Revachol, and Revacholiere, the soul of it - is hatered of women and gays which I am just not seeing the connection. I think I'll try fascist playthrough will PSY cop, maybe I'll get it.

And I did not play again because was satisfied so much with apocalypse cop that hard stance mattered not in apocalypse in 42 days was sensitive cop. I saw it as him seeing the doom, which he tried to share with his closest ones and only saw alienation. Nobody wants to see doom, not Vinquemare, not the girlfriend. He is all alone to deal with something that no human being can possibly cope with. Sometimes the abstraction of a fictional gameworld alienates us from the real-world roots of themes, like the connection between fascism and hypermasculine behavior. There's a lot of scholarship on that topic -- you could start with this wikipedia article about explicit policies under Mussolini and here's a scholarly article that more broadly documents the patriarchal policies and social norms of fascist societies. If you're really really interested in this topic, I'd recommend the book Imperial Leather by Anne McClintock -- it traces the connection between colonialism and patriarchy and it is dense. I don't think there's anything specific about male sexuality in the history of Revachol, and even if there was, it wouldn't be the biggest part that backs this up. In all languages, we use language of conflict and battle when talking about ownership of female bodies -- in all cultures, there's a sense of sexual virility that comes with military power. It's not the only thing that a man might fall back on, when feeling powerless in his own personal life, but there it is.

I fully expected to install the game today and breeze through it in one afternoon, and I'm literally just finishing day one. I have my hotel bill paid with 50 real in my pocket because I can absolutely be bought, and my only regret is that I failed the loving endurance check for getting the body down like 4 times in a row even after getting my poo poo together. Meanwhile, I hit Success on like 3 impossible skill checks before getting my first failure. That being said, I've done a lot more today than I normally would do. I said "gently caress it" and Just ripped open the curtains in the book store so I could go to the abandoned shopping area, so I've got everything I need once the body does need to come down. I just can't get the boots yet until I get my poo poo together and send Kim to his room or back to the station. Tankie Cop is kinda fun, it hasn't really come out much except for Half-Light REALLY wanting that dude's sandwich.

Was having a good time playing tonight on ps5... right until the save game option in the menu was grayed out for some reason, which wouldn't let me save at all.  at least i only lost an hour or so. hope that new patch fixes this!

I got some .1% Steam Achievement called Hardie's Heroes, seems like it's one of the rarest achieved ones in the game right now. Neat. I wonder if it's because I passed all the red checks during the merc/Hardie showdown, where I intervened and opened fire That poo poo was wild, the last check was like 27% and I still got it.
