It's weird how a big criticism of AEW from The Olds is the "flippy" style and "guys standing around catching people" griping, but more than most promotions and products I've watched over the years, I feel like AEW HIGHLY values simple/strong/clean spots, like a scoop slam, like a fall away slam, a really nice delay vertical, armbars and bulldog chokes and full nelsons are brutal finishers, and then obviously creating twists on those spots to make them more interesting and fresh. but I love watching Bearman toss Quen simply over his shoulders and Quen hitting the ground and rolling away like he just had his clock cleaned, because being thrown 5 feet by a big strong man will ring your bell dangit. Everyone is selling their rear end off and doing great character work on the simple/strongman spots

I think I've seen more solid grappling on AEW than WWE recently. The Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns match on Fastlane was pretty good though.
