Sufficiently kickass.

Thanks. I saw that one but wasn't sure. It's probably better than the one I chose, lol. One I chise, I watched her play for two hours just to see her hit Cuno after calling him a little poo poo, so I abandoned that one. I love Cuno (and hate/have a bad history with child abuse (as the victim)), so gently caress that.

Gonna go watch Pat, now.

Edit: the other one suggested I might check out, too, but I was really wanting it to be a Final Cut one, cause my headache has me light sensitive and I'm listening a little more than watching (I am familiar enough with the game and its events and stuff to where this doesn't bother me). I know it might sound stupid, lol. I just hurt too much to play, but am too in love with the game to get my mind off it, so I thought I'd just experience how others play this marvel (which is neat, even if some people wanna hit my sweet bebe speed demon Cuno)

Edit 2: Help! Somebody cut my head off! It's trying to murder the rest of me! (Quoted for how painfully appropriate/fitting that line is for me rn)

So, has anyone managed to get the trophy/achievement for the fascism vision quest? It seems like it's locked behind an extremely steep Endurance red check (one whose odds don't change even when I add 3 to my total Endurance score). Am I missing something on how to get it to pop?

If it's like the Communism one then yeah you'll have to pass all associated checks with the quest.

now I am definitely not well-read, but does that describe her? my first instinct is that the world-soul of Elysium would want humans to die out so it doesn't get erased by Pale - ref. the phasmid saying that all the nonsentient organisms, cnidarians and bilaterals etc, fear humanity and the pale it produces. but then, world-soul of the literal planet FF7-style is very different from world-soul of the force of history like Napoleon, which Innocences are explicitly described to be, and presumably such a thing would have the interests of humanity in mind rather than the biosphere. and of course the conjecture that pale is "reified past."

...hum. makes me think of Dolores Dei being kind of like the universe's agent on a suicide mission. pushing humanity forward (even though "we were supposed to discover this ourselves!"), producing more and more humans with pigs and wheat like Noid says, making more and more pale, snuffing out the source before it can escape Elysium and threaten the cosmos.

I don't know poo poo about poo poo except that I want the loving BOOK KURVITZ

Very meta theory: Dolores Dei is the personification of Role-Playing Games. She's interested in wargames, but is depicted with a toy soldier, singular, because that's the unit of control in a role playing game, unlike a wargame. Her glowing lungs are a reflection of the fact that she brought talking and acting to the traditional wargame. It's why in the dream, she can describe Harry as working top to bottom through a list of dialogue options and chastise him for it, because that's not really roleplaying. Before her, mankind was limited, like all units in a wargame, by the bounds of the map. Dolores Dei was the force that was born out of a drive to create new worlds, to explore the places which are not already on the map. And in a role playing game, the premise and setting are handed down to you from on high by the DM. If the premise of the setting is a fantasy feudal society, you will make characters who reflect that reality*, and that's Moralism at it's core.

And heck, if there's one singular piece of RPGs that have penetrated into the cultural mainstream, it's Morality, isn't it? Even if you've never played an RPG, you can probably read an alignment chart.

*Yes, you can make a D&D campaign about, say, rogue covert mercenaries investigating a global vampire conspiracy in present day Europe, but for the love of god don't. Just play Night's Black Agents instead.

you'd think so but the levels it is happening on make it way funnier than it is frustrating, like the last one I remember was I think with Joyce, where it was a big political choice thing of "those women and foreigners are responsible for all of this", "they just didn't hustle and grind enough, they didn't want it", "literally grind up the ownership class", and "perhaps the solution is to consider all of this and think hard about it", then he declared them all to be the communist options and went with the "gosh everybody really is nuts aren't they" option

I can't complain or anything because he's loving the game and showing it to 10k+ people per stream, and honestly it's really interesting to watch a centrist/moralist play through when most others play turbo commies by default

Not sure I perceive the same self-confidence or arrogance - like I said, to me it's laziness. He'll come across something foreign he can't pronounce or something he recognizes is a reference but doesn't know exactly what to, and he'll go "ha ha, I don't know what that is !" and just... leaves that there. End of.

I didn't talk to rene during my fascism quest, I only passed the suggestion check with Measurehead then the endurance check in the mirror. I think the fascism achievement needs you to get the sun portrait(aka pass the endurance mirror check), but I did get the fascism achievement

No clue about the other ones, or maybe achievements themselves are also bugged. I did a hastened run without even clicking on the body, got to the end and credits, no achievement popup. Don't know if you are even allowed to go in the yard with Cuno, or I technically did all the criteria right but the achievement didn't want to cooperate.

As fun as this would be, Dolores is the personification of the status quo. The reason she loves pieces and figurines is that the powers that be treat individuals like objects to be moved and removed so as to make sure that nothing fundamentally changes. Her glowing lungs are for the words she speaks in lieu of action, "I'm so sorry you're hungry, I feel bad!" instead of actually supplying food.

I was convinced I was either the unluckiest man alive or the game had a secret anti-save scum feature for that check.

If you pass the "make up a new name" conceptualization check all you get is "eh, now's not the time."

Your reward for passing that check is you do the "Talk to Klaasje about Sunday night without Kim around" quest right then and there.

Isn't legendary 14 or more (base stat of 8 for passives), and doesn't she leave once you go downstairs and meet Kim? How do you get that legitimately? Even six INT with the signature point in encyclopedia only gives you 7, and I don't think there's enough EXP you can get before she leaves to squeeze in that extra point
