OK that's pretty nice. I did a google and found Tony DePaul's blog (he is recovering from chemo--I don't remember hearing that but I may just have forgotten) where he mentions this guy they modeled the Trusted Man on.



He was a friend of DePaul's and Phantom fan from Mexico. He was a dentist who wrestled as El Dentista!



All in all, a nice little tribute I think. Seems like he was a nice guy.

Really surprised Val and Aleta don't kill each other to end the strip, they're up about 3 tragedies and a double digit body count on two trips to Misty Isles. It does make the upcoming relationship pretty intriguing since we've had modern Val Sundays in the thread.

Like originals from the 30s or a book of reproductions? Either way, find a way to archive some of the rarer stuff if you've got it, comics history outside of the big well-known names and properties can be so ephemeral.
