I saw a tweet from someone who said they had worked at a charity and had been organising an event with someone and the whole thing got called off because the person they were liaising with was so thoroughly and constantly nasty to everyone they didn't want to go through with it shocked to learn a decade later said person was the home secretary

It's good to remember these sorts of episodes because a) it was actually very funny at the time and b) it's a clear and obvious example of the ruling class flat out not having any sort of principles, it's hopeless to assume any form of natural justice exists and you need to be as powerful and determined as them to get results.
