Thanks friends. Buddy's been around since I was in middle school, over half my life, and a part of my brain simply can't comprehend him being gone - that the next time I'm at my parents', that he won't be lounging around on the couch, sunning himself in the backyard, or bringing his harness to people to beg for walks. He was such a good, caring, intelligent dog, and losing him is just crushing - but at the same time, I'm so thankful that he was around for so long, and I had the opportunity to go back for a few days to say goodbye, and be with him at the end.

Gonna miss this mutt every second of every day. The best boy. My Buddy.

For what it's worth, Madison Square Garden is zero distancing in the vaccinated sections, distanced/masked nonvaccinated sections, and mandatory showing of vaccine card or negative COVID test to get in. Pretty good system, 15K people in a 20K arena.

Yeah I don’t see the argument for half measures on this one.

We know there are unknown carriers out there. We know this will let a quarter of them out before they’re symptomatic. Everyone needs to chill for at least a fortnight, and even then you have to really watch out for transmission within households causing delayed cases.

A longer lockdown is no fun, but it’s better than having to do it twice. Maybe they’re gambling on tracing and testing during the week and potentially using that as hard evidence to extend it.

I'm pretty sure they'll be running contact tracing the whole 7 days and everyone who was in the wrong place in the previous 10 days is getting an additional 14 day no-expenses-paid staycation. 7 days (hopefully) gives them the time to run down all of our lucky contestants before they infect everyone.

Wonder what the total cost of putting people with a highly infectious respiratory disease into hotels is at, and how it compares to building a dedicated facility. But that doesn't shovel money at the people owning hotels, I guess.

I guarantee putting someone in a hotel for a week is cheaper than buying, staffing, and maintaining a hotel indefinitely, especially since its going to be basically empty all the time
