I love the freeper who thinks the vaccine is an elitist plot to wipe out 90% of the Earth's population, but is looking forward to it because the politicians will be the first to die.

Like uhhh wouldn't pretending to take it be part of their plan? Surely they wouldn't take the poison themselves.

It's convincing because no one's talking about it, and more authoritative sources would reject it out of hand. It just means the knowledge is being suppressed. That's how the conspiracy theorist mind works.

Yeah, I've always thought that the smarter vaccine conspiracy would be to release a deadly plague and a vaccine that works. Then all the anti-government types who would resist the NWO die unvaccinated, and you're left with an obedient population.

I'm never sure I'd call it being spineless, either. I could see the wheels in their head turning during the mess after the election, every Republican 'we can't just overturn an election' having an unspoken 'but boy...what if we could? Wouldn't that be swell?' after it. I'm not sure it's spinelessness so much as throwing up their hands and pretending 'oh no, guess we gotta go fascist now, nothing we could've done, not like we wanted to do this already!'

Real poo poo might've popped off if Trump walked up the steps of the Capitol after his rally instead of loving off back to the White House, but he didn't because he was a coward who ultimately didn't believe in his own cause. The GOP might love the prospect of overthrowing an election, but they know they might not live through the hell that comes after.

It's been discussed before but since they claim God is on their side, then if the revolution fails clearly they weren't actually good Godly people and must have been their enemies pretending to be them to make them look bad, since God can't lose.

They also don't want the average public to dig too deep into their beliefs, despite all their claims about "the silent majority" and how right wingers actually outnumber those dastardly liberals, they really don't want to look bad and definitely don't want people to go "Hmm, wait why did these people attack the Capitol?" So by going "Well actually it was those other guys, see how bad they are? You shouldn't side with them."

Mostly though they just want to wake up in the morning and turn on the TV and see the revolution has already happened so they can go "We did it, we made it happen!" when they didn't do anything at all.

And this is why a bunch of state legislatures passed laws saying "We will overturn election results we don't like."

Conservatives in entertainment are radicalizing because their profession is linked to what the most valuable demographic groups want to see in their society, and nobody in those demographic groups wants anything to do with the ideals they believe in. So they either have to cover up what they believe in and espouse things they hate like, you know, equality and tolerance, or completely remove their masks and burn themselves into the ash pit that is the Conservative Media Sphere where they get the joy of making very little money while also being objects of public ridicule unless they get called to talk at some GOP political rally or on Fox News.

It makes them mad that they can't be horrible human beings and get away with it without any personal or professional consequences, ergo they become nazis.

They don't want to shut the gently caress up about it, by nature conservatism demands that it be the dominant ideology, it cannot brook the existence of challenge or deviancy. So unless you're greedy enough for money, success and the perks that come with it or you don't really believe in conservatism that strongly, shutting up is impossible in a space where your enemies are dominant.
