Like someone from Country A thinking "I hate Country B and everyone from County B, and everyone who has ever lived in Country B, and I want to kill them", and then rather than killing anybody, this person from Country A just gets drunk and cheers on the people from their national team as they battle Country B in flower arranging or whatever. Also yeah the IOC is bad the Olympics are horrible to all their hosts it's garbage but I still say the international sporting impulse is a good one.

The Olympics are less about the actual sports played at them, (as has been said, there are far more prestigious and legitimate World Championships and World Cups for that), and more about the dickwaving of the city that And even then they are crazily expensive for those cities, even outside the bribes, what with building white elephant stadiums, and a whole heap of other stuff. This may be apocryphal, but I remember hearing a story when I was in High School, (I graduated in '94), that Melbourne still hadn't finished paying off it's Olympic games, (Melbourne had the games in '56). None of this is a funny picture though. Have a picture of a clown baby holding a gun-guitar riding a maybe(?) robotic dinosaur as penance.
