Lots of places have underdeveloped areas and shocking inequalities. But genocides, cultural or otherwise, have been going out of style lately.

Re: forum/thread wars. I don't know about/read the C-Spam thread, and have only dabbled in the D&D one. But doesn't this thread have a greater proportion of people who actually live, or have lived, in China? I may be very very wrong about this. So sorry if I am. To flout my living in China credentials, I did 2 1/2 years in the Glorious PRC, in 3 cities in 2 provinces. Not very long, but long enough I reckon.
