The sky isn’t very big and you don’t spend all that much time there, it’s not really equivalent to the Great Sea. Also the bird already moves really fast and there are those boost rocks.

Near the letter “a” is a land bridge barely under water you can walk across to cut the time down. Kill the enemies around it first.

Man I love the "enemies around" percussion groove in Skyward Sword, I just realized I've had it playing on pause for about 15 minutes now while I've been posting and stuff, and it's been great.

Yeah, I’m very excited to get there as my next full dungeon. Unfortunately I just got the harp and played it on top of the tower in Skyloft so it’ll still be a few hours, but gently caress that dungeon and boss fight are without a doubt among the best in the entire series.

I still think that Skyward Sword has the best final section of any Zelda game, from the proto-Dynasty Warriors run down the spiral, to the final fight with Ghirahim, and then that final boss... iconic.

I always just use cryonis+stasis to get it across. I waded across the actual Spiral Jetty in real life and really didn't feel like doing it again in a video game.

In hindsight the basic principles of flight would dictate that I should try ascending, but I was taking the game's word for it that it would just make me go up. So the bird slowed to a crawl and dropped out of the sky. Seems like a totally reasonable thing to miss.

This is verbatim what happened to me.

The two desert dungeons are my favorites because I love the time gimmick. But Cistern is an easy 3rd place. Koloktos is for sure the best boss tho.

I feel like lanayru mining facility doesn't get enough love for being a very kickass dungeon. maybe because the boss is kind of a letdown. but the time stone gimmick is really fun and the way the music changes in the past is hype

Yeah it’s awesome and I agree about the music. The boss is fine and makes sense for the dungeon but it isn’t quite on the level of Koloktos or some of the other great bosses.

Does it make sense for the dungeon? it's just a generic scorpion monster, the boss should've been some machine from the past that utilized a timeshift stone gimmick if you ask me

Therefore BotW is my favorite Zelda, because it doesn't make me dungeon delve in order to explore more.

Skyward Sword's overworld regions feel like open-air dungeons themselves, which I hope they do more of in a future game, but sometimes by the time I get down into an actual one I'm already a bit dungeon-fatigued from all the running around up top.

I didn’t mind the four Divine Beasts, though the bird and lizard were a bit too short. I think the game would’ve been cool with 2 big dungeons about half the size of Hyrule castle in between the four divine beasts. Perhaps that lost temple in the canyon could’ve been expanded and maybe something inside Mount Lanaryu. I don’t know what the reward would be but itd have to be something not required to beat Gannon.
