That reminds me of the time my friend's dad took us out for ice cream and when I mentioned I liked Hood's chocolate flavor the best, he confidently told me that all brands' chocolate ice cream is identical because it's always got the same ingredients on the label.

I was like ten and I still knew he was wrong

they would have to be giving out two gallons of soda/etc per customer for it to cause them to see any loss profits. the margins on fountain soda are well over 1000%. this is just a way for a senior VP to justify asking for a $750,000 bonus while shoveling a bunch of money/orders to a disposable drm soda cup startup he’s invested in

I liked Mitch's story of driving around trying to deliver Marge vacuums to the wrong addresses and his bumper fell off.

The bit where Simpsons characters were Mitch's coworkers and very mundane is one of my favorite recurring gags.

Oh yeah that was fun but also a good point about how odd it would be in 2021 for a sitcom family to regularly attend church when it’s not the point of the show.

I’ve been having a hard time getting through the food review sections of the show lately and I’ve fallen like a month behind. I don’t know if I’m over the format or if things like the 5th review of Burger King, the 6th review of Taco Bell, and this chain brewery one that I can’t seem to finish are the problem. It’s got to be the 10th time the boys are all talking about some hypothetical beer nerd from 2007ish that cornered them at a party to talk about Stone IPA or something not realizing that those guys evolved into blabbing about sours and gruit ales years ago. I still like the other segments though.

edit: When you go to the movie theater, what kinda snacks are you munching on??

IMO they definitely need to stop doing Taco Bell for a while now. It's obviously something they and some of their guests have a strong connection to, but even with the variety of menu items (which they'll always complain isn't varied enough anymore), it's been done to death now. But yeah the actual review segment is definitely not the primary appeal of the show for me either way.

Honestly I've found this year to be better about the food chat portion of the show just because it's fascinating to hear Nick try to piece together a vegetarian meal when it comes to chains that are not friendly to vegetarians at all.

I usually find myself drifting right around the time the actual meal discussion starts, I get distracted with something else and can't really keep track of what they ordered and how the fries were cold this time. You're spot on with the Strawman Beer Guy who exclusively drinks IPAs and won't shut up about IPAs thing. That's an archetype that definitely existed 15 years ago but hasn't really been around for a decade.

As for the movies: Pupcorn, you gotta have a pupcorn. Sometimes hutdug. And you gotta have Cherry Coke when you're at the movies. You gotta! (Me, personally: snack-free at the movies. I think I've done popcorn two or three times in the last decade.)

(Love the show, it's fun)

I love the show, and Mitch, but man did he get lucky stumbling into such a lucrative podcast as a man who can often barely string a sentence together. He's a huge part of what's great about the show, because otherwise Nick would just be that guy in the suit who reviews fast food on youtube, so I'm not trying to rob him of credit for its success either. It's just such a specific niche that he found and good for him. We should all be so lucky as to find our calling in life like that.

Also, I suspect that they go to Taco Bell, Burger King, etc so many times because a guest will be like, “I’ll do your dumb loving fast food podcast, but I’ll only eat at Taco Bell”.
