I got an full android watch and played with the novelty of controlling my fuji camera on the watch, but stop using it after a couple week because I realized I rather run with my phone than run with my watch (too much trouble moving new music files to the watch). It work as well/clumsy as you expected.

Just get that Xiaomi band and you will see. After a couple months you won't want to wear a band on your wrist. And if you want to wear a band to measure your step count, you can do it on a phone or on a g shock. Or you don't even need to wear anything after a while cause you will get an idea how much you walk.

I am not trying to talk you out of a band. It cost nothing just get one and see it yourself.

I normally buy poo poo off Ali but got a deal on one of these:

https://www.lg.com/au/wearables/lg-LMW315

Normally $299AUD bit I got mine on a clearance for $150. I normally have a G-Shock Copilot that has analog hands so the LG fits the bill as far as having a real analog watch with smarts around it. THe smarts will die in a day or so, but the analog will run for over a month telling time.

I hadn't used it in years, and found it while sorting things out, and it just wouldn't charge anymore. I still had the charger for it, but no lights on or charging even after I left it plugged in for a couple of days.

So you know, buyer beware, it stops charging if left unused for like what, 5 years?

They are actually kinda rad. There is a beer company that has lids that do this, the whole thing peels off like a tuna can but with no sharp edges. It makes it more like drinking out of a glass, so the beer pours out smoothly without glugging and getting foamy. You can also use one of those old time handheld bottle/can openers to punch a vent hole opposite the mouth hole for a similar effect.

I always see people talking about the tracking aspects of smart watches, but the biggest upside for me is notifications. I have mine set so the only thing that goes through to the watch are phone calls, texts, and personal reminders I've set up. My phone still vibrates for everything. Its helped me detach from my phone so much, I can quickly check the important things to see if they need my immediate attention without pulling the phone out of my pocket. I don't get stuck in those situations where you pull out the phone to check a text message and end up glued to social media.

Church Key. You can get them from Ali, but it's not worth it. Yard sales and the salvation army often have tons of cool vintage ones for stupid cheap.

They also make good keychain fobs. Because, it's important to be ready to open beer Mexican Coke bottle when driving.

I love my Apple Watch and the only thing I use it for is to see messages/emails and not have to open the phone to respond or see what it is. I keep meaning to set up all the extra stuff like controlling security and such at home but eh...

It's amazing how it's the little things that make it so useful. My favorite is I can listen to music and get constant messages without ping-ping-ping-ping constantly interrupting my tunes. Just a little tap on the wrist instead, perfect.

I grow up outside of US and most of the bottles are not twist open. It's pretty easy to use your house key to slowly open it. Or you can force it open on the table edge, but it may leave a mark on your wood table.

An industrial electrician I know taught me that panel keys, (like these) for opening electrical panels on machinery also work well to open pop top bottles. Apparently beer goes well with high voltage electricity too!

Making an educated guess here: No.

The systems that are made with "500 games built in!!!1" but no removable media don't tend to have a menu system (or an obvious button to enter any such menu) and therefore don't do savestates.

Powkiddy makes a bunch of other models that do though, I recommend the FC3000, it's usually under $25 shipped.

This one is meant to sell itself on being a portable battery first and a gameboy second, it seems.

Yep exactly that, anything really cheap with games built in on aliexpress is almost certainly a famiclone/nes on a chip which means it has the same capabilities as an original NES, so no savestates or anything fancy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs4V8hvcE0U

As you mention, the family pocket FC3000 is just as cheap as any famiclone/nes on a chip portable but is basically old cellphone hardware that runs actual emulators so there is no reason to buy anything else on the super low end.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52lTuozWPYA

Except the gamechicken, which is a famiclone/nes on a chip but you should buy it because it's :krad:

No it's just an analog stick without the stick and likely doesn't work.

Yep the most prolific famiclones/nes on a chips were these things with fake analog sticks in all sorts of colors:
