Also I'm part of that failing healthcare system and lol, just lol if you don't take this thing seriously after spoon feeding thickened water to a dying COVID patient because that's all they can take. Shaking from pain and the fever so badly you have to use pillows to keep them softly restrained into their bed. Wearing PPE so thick that you are pouring sweat due to the person's fever heat radiating on you. The helplessness of standing there, during a night when it's so quiet you could hear pins drop from a city away, knowing the usual bustle and noise is muffled because everyone is sick and dying. Standing there, spoon feeding thickened water and dripping sweat.
Healthcare is definitely hosed. But, I don't have to tell anyone here that one.

You think? We are all alone, and as such, if it doesn't hit you specifically well...there's a great concert going on,let's go! We're vaccinated after all!

This isn't doom by the way, just the reality. I see little sparks of people caring, people forming communities during this. I just think there was a great lie we all believed that we were all part of the human race and looked out for each other, etc. Now we're competing to see who can throw the most kids/workers into the meatgrinders to appease the white rich people. Maybe the jaded internet knew this already, but the average wine mom or the office worker dad now see it too.

I'm legitimately curious if Canada handles a run on hospitals with the same indifference of the states. We're about to find out!

And yeah it's a really lovely time if you genuinely care about people

Seeing glimpses of UBI and not wondering why we couldn't get more. Like, where did it go wrong? Was there ever a chance of us coming together as one?

Healthcare is definitely hosed. But, I don't have to tell anyone here that one.

I had to put so many COVID patients on nectar- and honey-thick liquid before I left work and they would all eventually end up NPO. Their lungs were so hosed they couldn't coordinate breathing and swallowing and they would aspirate.

This was after recovering from COVID.

In the 10 years of practice prior to June 2020 I only had 1 or 2 patients where the primary etiology for dysphagia was poor respiratory status. I probably had 30 from June 2020 to December 2020.

lol dunno if anyone cares but I have the real answer since I'm an American living in china with a chinese wife. Her parents aren't vaccinated and there's no effect. the app that you scan to go into shops only checks if you've been in close contact with another case. since china has like 30 active cases, very low chance of that proccing. I'm pretty shocked too that they dont force anyone, but they don't really need to. Chinese trust the govt and just want it to be over. Her parents dont wanna get the vaccine because they're cranks and lazy. I mean it basically is over in china. the govt also just crushed a countrywide outbreak in ,like a couple of weeks. Covid 0 is great. I feel bad for all the americans. then again I just talked to one of my friends and he's going to weddings and partying so I guess noone in america gives a poo poo any more.
