This isn't doom by the way, just the reality. I see little sparks of people caring, people forming communities during this. On paper this should have brought us together. Seeing governments not caring, the fact that this virus could be taken care of if we looked out for one another and stayed safe. last summer people were pretty unified on getting checks and after the last one everyone in power has worked tirelessly to make sure it never happened again

I genuinely think that the whole vaccinated people don’t have to wear masks was part of the strategy, because they knew we would need to put them back on and they had a target for animosity lined up

The helplessness of standing there, during a night when it's so quiet you could hear pins drop from a city away, knowing the usual bustle and noise is muffled because everyone is sick and dying. Healthcare is definitely hosed. But, I don't have to tell anyone here that one.
