I need to work for my money so that I can save up enough to not afford rent, eat out at the restaurants that are closed because housing is unaffordable, buy consumer electronics that are massively more expensive due to supply chain issues, and pay for quality medical care (getting my broken leg tended to in a parking lot by an overworked nurse that's having a mental breakdown)

the NOLA poo poo is crack pinging the gently caress out of me. First I Saw the "went from probably a cat 1 to a cat 4 in 12 hrs" thing Then I saw that the city isnt going to do mandatory evacs IT MADE A SMILY FACE  then someone posted in the climate change threads the article from 2 years ago about the levees already failing. and then someone posted in another slack group im in that they're going to try to ride it out and im like please dont die friend. And then im reminded by this thread every time I read it that there's thousands of people hospitalized that definitely cant be moved and there's no where near by that can take them anyway out of the storms path.
