That data might be legit. My hospital has seen a drop in positivity rate from 39% to 19%. Keep in mind LA blew up really early with delta. I am seeing a little decrease… that being said school has been in session for two weeks and I am sure we will see an increase. I also know hospitals have been sending home anyone who could be possibly sent home before the storm so that will also make the numbers look “better.”

I don’t know whether I’ve mentioned this before, but sometime around April/may 2020 I noticed a lot more helicopter overflights. Checking adsb exchange revealed that I’m directly under a corridor between two major cities in my state, and the traffic is almost entirely hospital-owned rotorcraft racing between hospitals for some reason. It slowed down slightly earlier this year, but we’re back in business now. Just had one zoom by at 1500’ on a return trip from what I assume was just a casual visit between health care professionals.

LA moved from 90.4% ICU occupancy to 89.4%. It has basically bounced between these two numbers for the past 8 days. That said, it will drop this week as patients die when the hospitals lose power.
