Per my previous tablet, it seems like we're consistently running a little low on water levels for the sesame fields. Going forward, could we schedule a weekly meeting to touch base and keep everyone in the loop? Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Ibbi-Ilabrat

Also there are warehouses full of untranslated Sumerian cuneiform tablets, I assume it's the same for all those dawn-of-civ societies. I get salty if I ever have to write stuff out longhand.

The tablets aren't stone, they're dried clay. They were written on when the clay was soft and easy to imprint, then they were at some point baked, usually when the city they were kept in burned down. No one was intending to preserve memory of Ea-nasir's lovely copper forever, it was just a lucky accident.

Like smooth out the clay and rewrite it? Is there some kind of ancient Sumerian sitcom plot where someone breaks into someone's house to edit an unflattering tablet they accidentally sent to someone before they can read it? christmas boots has a new favorite as of 23:29 on Aug 30, 2021 |
