i think what people underestimate if enough people do decide to go that route and commit to building something that will take 40 years to grasp power is that a lot of your movement can probably be bought off with mild social democratic reforms

hey, can't say I disagree, just that the idea of people who think that you could just overthrow entrenched institutions in a 4 or 6 year span are just not understanding the kind of grind it actually has been historically.

i was just trying to point out that revolutionaries who desired socialism and fought for it existed in russian for a long, long time before the bolsheviks were able to seize political control of the nation. not that voting for AOC or whatever is a revolutionary act, but that class struggle manifests in a lot of ways before a successful revolutionary change from the status quo occurs

I think the early ones used shields to signify production, then switched to hammers at some point (worth pointing out that the last good civ game civ4, uses hammers to signify workers, as any good game should) then the more recent ones switched to gears because they're out of ideas just like american communist parties
