Maybe instead of batteries have a heavy flywheel for for energy storage and bonus gyroscopic stability.

From dad's photo album, in line with what's been posted recently He wanted a Vega wagon but the hatchbacks were way cheaper and the wagons he did find still ran so he didn't want to mutilate a running vehicle. The "windshield" is the rear window from a Pinto, if I remember right. Dad never got around to changing the axle, so it still had the full Vega rear end underneath. Per my dad, even with that it was the nicest pulling trailer he ever had. Couple "normal" ones from the album 1965 Impala SS, 327, 300hp, dark green metallic(Glen Green, I think). Original owner was meticulous and waxed the trunk floor. Parents owned this around 1970-1 and sold it because my dad was having nightmares about it being damaged. 1967 Camaro convertible, "Deepwater" blue. Would have been around 1976, I think. Sold to someone who drove by on a cross street, somehow saw it halfway down the block, and came down and made my dad an offer of ~3 times what he paid.

Hell, just about every mid-engined car has spinning accessories just inches from the driver. Also driveshafts are a thing and there's a reason driveshaft safety loops exist and are required for many race series/modified street cars in many jurisdictions. I'm reminded a bit of when B is for Build was getting poo poo for fixing the front end of his crashed Huracan by "just welding on aluminium bar stock!" as if that wasn't how Lamborgini built the fuckin thing in the first place. Not defending everything the guy does, but drat, in that case he was literally replacing like for like.

B is for Bullshit's problem wasnt replacing like for like - it was doing it so badly even 1970's Lancia would have been embarrassed to have it in a Stratos. And believe me, the Stratos is pretty embarrassingly built in the first place quote:You nerds have never seen an OG GT40, have you? In fact I have. Thats worse by some margin.

I always wondered why driveshaft safety loops are not a common sense part in car manufacturing worldwide. Not only it can be an additional chassis reinforcement, but a good safety feature too. Shouldn't cost much even on a production scale.CAT INTERCEPTOR posted:

I haven't really seen much of his newer stuff but he was a staple of the OSHA thread and some of the 'well this is a twisted chassis, I've learnt from these Russians how to pull it straight and weld random pieces of box section to make things stiffer' completely ignoring crumple zone requirements.

There's a lot of car yoooootoooobers whom are avoided because they are lovely people. B for Bodgy is avoided due to being an absolute rolling disaster level idiot for how badly he does poo poo and they have never learned or cared to do things even slightly safe and competent. You look at say Goonzquad, their work over the last few years has gotten pretty good, they challenge themselves and they also listen to critique. Rob Dahm has gotten waaaaaay out of his depth so many times but you can see the competently levels grow. Complete opposite of the rolling violations B for Build sharts out.
