He's good, definitely passes the eye test and is only going to get better. First year QB's coming in and setting the league on fire is the exception, not the norm. I'd take him over Burrow and any of the other rookies drafted this year. Herbert is obviously better if we're comparing first year performance but if you actually watch Lawrence, you can tell he's very good and just needs time and better weapons. Go back and look at guys like Elway, Manning, Aikman, Only thing that can gently caress him up to me is playing in Jacksonville. Oh, wait.

also jones shenault and chark (who is hurt i know) are good players and robinson is a pretty nice hb. Line is obviously not that great and the scheme isn't the best but the players has to pass to are good

Number two in rookie qb in yards on the jags is not rear end. Also, the "previous generation" line doesn't really make sense unless there's some mythical rookie quarterback who never made errors, never had to learn the game, and immediately willed his team to the playoffs. Yeah, I'm not saying Lawrence is a future hall of famer, rookie of the year or even playing all that well but his skills are obvious and there's a lot to be optimistic about. I mean, besides playing in Jacksonville under Urban Meyer. He objectively does not suck. I think his absolute floor would maybe resemble something like Kirk Cousins, Cam Newton or Derek Carr and he has tremendous upside. He shows me more than Mayfield, Burrow, Mac Jones, Fields, Zach Wilson and certainly more than other top 5/10 NFL draft picks in recent years like Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Goff, Winston, Mariotta, Wentz, Trubisky, Tua...I could go on. The kid can play. He just needs some time and some help. Justin Herbert and Mahomes are next level.
