For those not from NYC, Smith Street is also one of the main arteries towards the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, which cyclists use to get into Manhattan from Brooklyn. It's one of the busier bike lanes in Brooklyn.

lol. instead of traffic light cameras on highways with no dedicated turn light to catch people making a left after opposing traffic has stopped, there should be cameras on blocks like this. I bet they’d make a LOT more money and actually perform a worthwhile service

a few months ago, i completely changed my life by moving to an urban downtown with easy access to buses and light rail. i sold my car, so I do all of my errands or commutes either by walking or by mass transit. it is something that i wish that everyone could do

The streetcar has high, spacious ceilings, huge windows on all sides, and enormous, inviting wooden doors on both sides. The bus is unambiguously shittier... lower ceilings, more claustrophobic windows, smaller doors, which makes boarding and unboarding slower (and much harder for the elderly / disabled). We had good transit, and replaced it with much worse transit
