Caral - Designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede of Carcassone fame. Weird Peruvian themed Pyramid builder with some Euro themes, might be a bit dry? Somewhere Under The Rainbow - Collect unicorn poop in a unique tile collector. Looks like a lot of fun if you have kids. City of the Great Machine - 1 vs Many /w Hidden Movement. Which would normally be my jam, but this is a relaunch due to 'reasons' + I think Beast is way more interesting. Everything about it looks great mechanically though. Bardwood Grove - Deck builder where you combo lyrics together before the tempo gets too quick and you ~sing for points~ Cool concept. Reinforcements Card Game - Updated spin on the classic card game War. Builder towers of cards and attack your opponents Kingdoms. Cool art and cool concept. Viking Raiders - Viking card battles in a tiny box. Cool art. Grove - Cute little domino card layer where you combo trees to harvest points. Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome - Multiplayer Maquis? Resist nazis in pick up and deliver gameplay. Great looking art. Dreamweavers - Coop card battler where you enter peoples dreams and complete objectives as you try and get Senpai Morpheus to notice you. Meh Small Railroad Empires + Mini Expansion - Train nerds click here? Senjutsu: Battle for Japan - Dudes on a very bland map Kabula - Dudes on a fantasy map. Was looking semi-interesting until I noticed they put hashtags on cards. NOoooooooo . Dooonnnn'tttt. Miniatures are amusing in a 'so bad they're good' kinda way Hamsters vs Hippos - Push your luck style tile flipper. Designer has a thing for Hippos? loving Why The Ultimate Adjustable Boardgame Backpack - Carry your games to your mates = Nice. Great looking bag = Double nice. ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY loving EUROS =  (Just go to IKEA and get some $1 or $5 bags)Deck the Halls - A blandish Christmas themed game trying to release BEFORE Christmas and it is.. almost November. Good luck with that mate Downtown Chase - Race to defeat Johnny Quick. Inconsistent artwork and game systems. A cool concept ruined by bloat that doesn't know what it wants to be?

that Senjutsu game seems like the definitive "boring game with a boring board and cards, hoisting up the entirety of the Kickstarter with its miniatures" which is a real shame, because the miniatures look great and I wish they were just their own goddamn thing as opposed to being game pieces on a lame game. Reminds me of stuff like the street fighter miniature "board game" where it's just 2 or 3 figures on a flat featureless board.

I had a completely different reaction--I really liked the look of the other components, and I dropped a $1 pledge so I can peruse actual gameplay stuff and make a decision later -- i didn't have a chance to actually look at it much yet, is gameplay outright bad?

Looks like we're getting a deluxe Mothership bundle ($99 for the new corebook and all the official adventures) at some point soon. I wish I liked the system more because the modules are mostly good (or at least fun to read and look at, can't vouch for how they play). I should really write something more for the game, my free psionics supplement got a surprising amount of downloads for a random free PDF for an indie RPG.

Marvel Dice Throne launches Monday, and the hero announced today has got me hyped even more. So far it's Captain Marvel Black Panther Thor Spider-man (but it's Miles loving Morales!) All of them look 100% compatible so it's not going to be a Marvel Villainous situation.

Launching a little Kickstarter on Monday. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sandypuggames/a-night-at-the-tavern  Night At The Tavern is a social adventure module set over 4 hours in a small tavern that's about to be completely destroyed. Lots of plotlines and relationships and fun stuff for player to get stuck into, printed on these big, heavy stock trifold pamphlets. We're also reprinting TEN MILLION HP PLANET, if you missed that last go around, it's a TTRPG about killing a planet with over the top anime bullshit. This is 100% to pay for the printing of the thing, and I'm only gonna run it for a week or so. Here's a preview of the first hour:

 Games ending this week 3 days to go Beast - I'm putting this out on it's own, cause gently caress me I am very very excited about this one and I think people should check it out; especially if you love games like Fury of Dracula, Whitehall Mystery, and Scotland Yard. 1 Vs Many + Hidden Movement is basically my favourite type of board game; and I think there should be more Versus games out there. I think Beast could be something really special, and everything about this production looks amazing. The art in particular is a home run for how evocative it encapsulates the theme of 'slaying an ancient beast from some deep dark European moor'. Please check it out. Here's all The Big poo poo launching this week, and I'll probably do another round up later once Tues/Wed hits and everything has launched. Marvel Dice Throne - I've been continuously impressed by Roxley Games value for money and how well their KS campaigns are run. Buncha Goons seem to enjoy Dice Throne and now it's pairing up with Marvel. Will likely make a bajillion dollars. I've been trying really loving hard to cut down on my backing, but Roxley just make incredible stuff and push it out quick - so I can't wait to see what they add to this and make me cave to FOMO pressure. Current heroes announced: - Captain Marvel - Black Panther - Thor - Spider-man (Miles Morales) - Black Widow - Scarlet Witch Resident Evil: The Board Game - by Steamforged Games. Allegedly a 27hr campaign over multiple sessions. Will probably feature 10,000 minis in a Kallaxs worth of boxes. Will also make a bajillion dollars Batman: Escape Arkham Asylum - Yet Another Batman Game. Play as villains versus Batman in a dungeon crawler. Mini FOMO will likely abound as well. Hegemony: Lead your Class to Victory - Seen a couple of previews for this, and while I'm personally not interested I think it does a lot of really cool things and if you're into politically themed board games this one looks really solid. Yeah Marvel Dice Throne is an instant back for me at whatever level gets me all the new poo poo. I'm impressed with the new character design. Roxley's fomo is normally limited to: * Swirly Dice * A "Battle Chest" which holds all 8 characters in one box as opposed to 4 small ones * A Promo Pack, which is just a single card per character that lets you roll a die; on a 6 you get good poo poo, on anything else you draw a new card. It can be safely ignored if you don't want to bother. Oh and artwork cards for hero randomization if you want to play like that. These are usually available at cons and whatnot, too, and will be available down the road. Maybe there'll be more this time but I don't think they need it. It basically sells itself at this point. The game is a lot of fun, and the production values are incredible. My kids and I have played the poo poo out of it - usually weekly duels or king of the hill matches. I would back just for the convenience of the battle box if nothing else.
