I mean I doubt it was necessary, truth be told. Bertrand was a bit battered already wasn't he? I guess that's egg on my face! We don't even get heroic death for our old boy! Edit: Travis, what a JERK move! On the other hand I guess it canonized that as more than a mere fling.
