From the rumors and such I hear coming out of AGS, this is basically what happens; Amazon is apparently wicked seniority based or something, so the people who came in with actual experience knowing things like "Don't do client side validation" or "You can't put out a piece of poo poo and expect to patch it good" were basically ignored because the team leads were all Flavoraid drinkers who "knew" that "The Amazon Way is the Best Way". Unfortuantely, I think the lesson they'll learn from this is basically "The game industry is an unsolvable problem because we're Amazon and we can do anything but we couldn't do that".

In Mega Man Battle Network, there's a short period after using a chip during which you can't use another one. However, switching forms breaks you out of a lot of effects, and in MMBN4, one of the things it breaks you out of is the chip lockout period. Throw in some fullcusts to get you to the next turn right away, letting you switch forms again, and... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOQ8JR4rNuM

You got close but also so, so very far. From what we know, Amazon is dropping 500 million dollars per year into their game studio, and so far have released New World, a few smaller games that were critically panned, a port of Dragon's Lair for twitch, and also managed to un-release a game which is really their most impressive feat.

Agile is a one size fits all development model and definitely shouldn't be adjusted based on the product. Getting any kind of working code out the door as your primary goal will always be successful. I was forced to do some dumb company training on agile and I would be in jail if I followed it. Documentation isn't so important and we should get a product out ASAP and try and bypass SOPs? Yeah the fda will love that.
