Moderna booster trip report at 12 hours: lol my arm is unusable time to hit the advil and tylenol No headache, fever, or any of that from dose 2, yet somehow a worse arm than 1/2 combined. Did take precautionary Tylenol before bed as I could feel it progressing. I preferred the military clinic's administration over CVS, those needles I couldn't even feel and this one had a touch more bite to it (flu shot-level). And as everyone said, CVS did not give a single flying gently caress about qualifications and California, Colorado, and New Mexico are superceding the CDC and offering boosters to everyone. Go get yours! Seven hours since I got my Moderna booster and flu shot combo at the local CVS. Completely hassle free, booked a time online (there were plenty of open slots) walked in with my ID, health insurance card and CDC vax card, none of which I needed to show. One shot in each arm, in and out in less than 10 minutes. Both arms are mildly sore. No noticeable side effects beyond that as far as I can tell. If there was like a serious waiting list to get a booster then I could understand being more stringent about prioritizing the highest risk people first. But when you can sign up for a booster dose at any grocery store literally tomorrow, availability is not a major concern. You're not taking doses away from immunocompromised orphans standing in line out in the freezing snow.

Yeah that's exactly what I ended up going ahead and getting it, bonus points since it was the Moderna booster that the Youngs aren't approved for right now. If assheads are going to continue to run around unvaccinated, it makes sense to increase your protection as much as possible in a plentiful-dose environment. It's bullshit that we're not exporting (even) more doses abroad, and apparently the government-Moderna contract is a pile of fucks, but not much you can really do about that at the local office. Get your booster, fib with a clean conscience. Around 18 hours in, I got a lighter version of the dose 2 side effects - headache, minor fever, tired as hell. I SERIOUSLY recommend hitting the Tylenol/Advil at the first sign of side effects, it really was the difference between a sore arm and an unusable arm.

That is... bleak. How do democracies overcome the career politician class? The Ontario NDP (theoretically the progressives) are currently being led by someone who's lost every consecutive provincial election since I was old enough to vote, including most recently to Doug Ford. It creates the perspective of a party apparatus more interested in collecting steady paycheques for being the third party in the legislature instead of actually trying to win elections. These people seem to stand for nothing except maintaining the status quo for their own benefit.
