I had that experience once backing out of the driveway of my Mom's house once growing up. Pressed the brake peddle and it just went straight to the floor. I was going slow enough I had time to remember to throw it in neutral and apply the parking brake before I took out the mailbox.

If you just cut ignition it'll engine brake itself too

Probably not? Lipoma are common and usually benign. Intussusception is more serious but as a layman I don't see how mercury exposure could cause your guts to telescope in on themselves.
