Crab Dad posted:Can’t you get the 4 door version? It’s really too bad they stopped making the wagon version too. They make the Charger (4 door), Challenger (2 door) and Durango (3 row SUV) in trims with a basic v6 all the way up to a supercharged 6.2L v8 with 700+ HP. The SRT Hellcat Durango is pretty amazing if you're into that sort of thing. But yeah you can get a 4 door family sedan that goes 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

I'll happily recommend a Prius Prime to anyone. With the 2017 and later versions the battery range is up to about 20mi full electric. For me this means my entire daily commute and back are electric and I can charge it at home. Once you're off electric you're running at around 50mpg. Right now my average MPG since I got the car in June is 118mpg. Pretty good if you can get it. They aren't even too overpriced or anything and they are comfortable for even larger people. I am 6' and have no issues at all with head / leg room.

There's a guy at work who drives a Model Y and has a ton of shares in Tesla and he will pop into chat to write 12 paragraphs about Elon and the nasty lying media the very instant you mention anything to do with him or the company. His latest thing has been to describe the new EV subsidies as explicitly anti-Tesla because of the union requirement. It is an insanely insufferable personality type Volvo just opened a Polestar showroom in DC and I've been thinking about checking it out Tiny Timbs fucked around with this message at 18:34 on Nov 24, 2021 |

I bought a Nissan Leaf this past summer and I love it. Only part I hate about owning an electric car though is when you get idiots asking why I didn't just buy a Tesla as if it was a personal slight against their lord and savior Elon.

Our next car will be electric so I'm following the market (it will absolutely not be a Tesla). But the reason our next car will be electric is 95% of our car drives are just within the city and usually pretty short. Which also means our current gas cars will last till we die of old age at this rate. So basically our next car is electric, if we ever are able to justify buying a new car.

Electric bikes are really benefitting from all the investment in battery tech, too. For less than 10% of the price of an electric car it's easy to get a comfortable (read: not arriving as a sweaty mess) 40-50 mi of range.

There’s an interesting variant of SARS-CoV-2 showing up in southern Africa, christened B.1.1.529. Specifically, it was sequenced in Botswana and South Africa, plus found in a visitor upon his return to his home in Hong Kong. https://twitter.com/janemerrick23/status/1463493119257763845 There’s not much to go on for characteristics in the wild so far, but it’s something to keep an eye on because its suite of spike mutations looks like a Swiss Army knife.

Probably would've been a "they said, he said" kind of case without the video - or they would've made up enough garbage to get an acquittal or make a non-racist DA think about not filing. Also, the Feds are still involved here too - the murderers/cameraman still face federal charges. It's speculated that they'll plead out to the federal charges so they can stay in federal prison forever over state prison.
