If you weigh yourself daily, it's 100% normal to see a variation of up to 1 kg / 2 pounds, depending on how much you've eaten and drank over the previous 24 hours, if you've pooped, and so on.

Eight pounds is weird. You would have to eat an ungodly amount of food for that. (No, not even at Thanksgiving you eat that much.) It could be a sign of an underlying health problem, so this dude should go see his doctor about it.

It reads extremely true to life imo. My boomer dad was the absolute master of dishing it out while not being able to take it. Even worse, he would constantly talk up his own supposed thick skin, while bemoaning how easily offended other people were.

If you ever tried calling him out, he would accuse you of being "nasty", unlike his jovial, good natured barbs which were clearly intended as jokes, how dare you get offended.

When Moy first took over, she did a story about an alcoholic stalker that wanted to get with Mary, and Mary was, reasonably enough, mean to him hoping that he would leave her alone, after which he got drunk and drove off a cliff. Not at all Mary’s fault, but it was presented in the strip as a case where Mary couldn’t fix things.

I only remember because the stalker looked just like Captain Kangaroo.

Ah yes, Aldo Kelrast. I remember that one, a pity Wilbur’s a long established character and probably won’t be gotten rid of that easily though.
