The C4 ZR1 was esoteric enough that the C8 Z06 is probably the first time a lot of car people have heard of an OHC Corvette, and someone (or a Google search) probably told them it isn’t the first one.

It's more a bunch of yoooootoooobers and car scribblers from seemingly unconnected sites all did stuff about the ZR-1 at the same time that seemed to be oddly co-ordinated. I've always lusted after the ZR-1 (impossible dream defined) so maybe I just am more armed to see anything about ZR-1s?

I would guess a combo of new Z06 plus the current popularity of 80s/90s cars made all those people get the same idea of "hey, I should do a story of the original quad cam 32 valve 'vette" and boom here we are.

Wonder how long before someone drops an LT6 into a C4 to make a "restomod" ZR1.

Based on my experience in the finnish army, I couldn't trust a UAZ drivetrain, especially with the increased torque of an electric. During one field exercise our company's UAZ had broken down and was sent to the repair depot. The dedicated conscript driver brought it back after repairs. Few hours later bunch of our officer trainers decided to drive to the sauna with it. They tried to back it and they barely got the UAZ to move before the transmission failed again.

UAZ-469, breaking down in places other vehicles can't even reach! Of all the vehicles to buy from Russia. Was Sisu not interested in building a jeep? Could VKT not build the Wulf?

I saw a 469 for sale in Naples, FL with the entire drivetrain from a 5 liter G-Wagen in it. Most of the interior, too. Which... is one way to do it. They wanted $29k for the thing, lol.

They should have done the Bukhanka

For a good laugh, scroll down to the luxury interior features. They have one of those things where you hover over them and get a description like all the fancy luxury car websites.

Ever sat in a Miata? How do those two compare? Cappuccino or other kei sports car is on my list of things I'd buy if I ever see disposable income again.

Almost word for word what my buddy with a 308 says about the car. We are pretty sure his diesel box truck can beat it to 60. For the one day a month he drives it, the man is all smiles.

His DD is neat, too. 1992 Mercedes 300E in teal metallic paint over beige leather, loaded minus the self levelling suspension. A two owner Florida car; no rust, no dings, all the little trim pieces in place, just a great example of the breed. Not a hero car but solid, uncomplaining, and very comfortable.

Easy to see why half my family swore by the W124 for so long. My uncle's last one (a '97) was sold in '05 to a Czech cousin of ours who still rocks it, bombing around the forests blasting EDM while tracking down classic Eastern European car parts.

Oh, I mean.....I own a 944. So I'm all about driving slow cars fast. And that's a great candidate for it.

(but it didn't actually handle as well as a 944 - but drat the gated shifter was magical)
