They think it's all a zero-sum game and the more rights you give to marginalized people, the less rights there are left over for everybody else. which is an insane thing to think and a mind-boggling way to think about rights, but it explains why people give a poo poo about opposing stuff like trans rights or gay marriage.

It's the jaw or nose or forehead or shoulders or lips or eyes or, occasionally, indicators of a surgery that never took place. They have to find something. That's how they can think a computer can do that job. Because they think that they're revealing objective truth and not just holding women to impossible standards of womanhood.

The short version is they are mostly 2nd wave feminists - so people with views that sprung up 40 or more years ago. They would be very big on biological essentialism, things like men MUST dominate and control and can't stop themselves. (For various nefarious purposes) by which they mean assault and sexual abuse, hence the bathroom bills and other reactionary liberal attempts to curb the social acceptability of transpeople in general. They also have absolutely appalling views on transmen, but are less loud about it. Generally speaking they think transmen are traumatised lesbians who have given into their own internalised misogyny and "mutilated themselves" etc etc in attempt to occupy a Male role in society. They come down harder on transwomen because they hate them more imo. It's a hate ideology. Frequently supported materially by other hate/conservative groups. tldr; TERFs are what they are because they follow some faulty and perverse logic that has spilled out of second wave feminism and it has been amplified by the right wing media as part of the culture war.
